Women’s Rights vs Taliban
A woman is a human, she has a soul too. And nobody can snatch her rights.
You might have heard people say, “The guidance of the holy book, Quran is enough for mankind to lead a life.” Is that true? The Quran has only 114 chapters. With those chapters, does the Quran guide a man to lead his life? Well, it is a yes! Those who have gone through the Quran would agree with it. But the Taliban has misunderstood the Holy Quran.
The Taliban group banned the girls from going to school. There is no verse in the Quran stopping women to restrain from gaining knowledge. The first verse relieved in the Holy Quran is about learning.
“Read, In the Name of your Lord who created. Created man from a clot. Read, And your Lord is the Most Generous. He who taught by the pen. Taught man what he never knew.” — Quran (96:1–5)
Learning is very essential for both genders. Moreover, a woman’s knowledge is more important. The following African problem is heard everywhere when there is talk about women’s education.
“If you educate a man you educate an individual, but if you educate a woman you educate a family (nation)”
It is so true. Give women their due education. Nobody has any right to stop girls from getting their education.
After the Taliban group taking control over Afghanistan, many innocent men tried to escape from their own country. Few videos were been viral on social media as they try to fly with the American flight and being there at Kabul airport. All those videos portray only men, why not women? Can’t a woman be a refuge? The migration took place even during Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) time. At that time both men and women migrated. Women have the right to migrate if it is needed.
The group has even banned women from going to work. The beloved wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Kathija (May Allah be pleased with her) was herself a businesswoman. She is the most righteous woman ever in Islamic history. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) admired her business skills. It was with her earnings, the Prophet (PBUH) and Kathija (May Allah be pleased with her) lead their life.
Thus the Quran does not refuge women from earning. A woman can earn and can lead her family.
Women too have their due rights. The men have to take care of women. But by no means to hurt her. Let a woman live her life.
